Description :
Large woody debris (LWD) were studied along the Drôme River, a French Alpine river with an active shifting channel and a well-developed riparian forest. The objectives are to assess LWD quantities (input from floodplain and in-channel storage), the preferential sites of LWD deposit and the geomorphological influence of LWD along the river course of a human-modified watershed. These objectives should allow for the proposal of soft-maintenance strategies of LWD.
