Segmentation of soil roughness profiles

The aim of this paper is to describe a new heuristic method for analysing soil roughness profiles, considering them as an assemblage of several entities that may difer in terms of statistical properties and lengths without assuming constraints on their number and extension. The A. also derived the variability of statistical and spatial roughness properties along the profile, extracting the possible components detected inside the sample.
