Description :
The AA. consider the magnitude and duration of enhanced nutrient losses in particulate matter from newly burnt Eucalyptus globulus and Pinus pinaster forests in the Águeda River Basin, wet mediterranean climate of north-central Portugal. The nutrients studied were total nitrogen (N), exchangeable potassium (K) and available phosphorus (P). They also consider post-fire changes in nutrient losses in relation to rainfall characteristics, and assess the impact of erosion on the nutrient status of the burnt soils.
