The roles of texture and structure in the water retention capacity of burnt Mediterranean soils with varying rainfall

Description :
The objective of this work was to evaluate whether different soil conditions at burnt sites result from fire or from different climatic conditions (average annual precipitation). For this purpose, an altitudinal transect affected by forest fires was chosen. Along the transect, 4 sites, with different amount of annual rainfall, but with almost homogeneous soil parent material, soil type and vegetation, were selected.
