Soil chronosequence, soil development, and soil evolution : a critical review
Auteur :HUGGETT, R.J.
Description :
This review focuses on things. First, it briefly considers the construction and classification of soil chronosequences. Second, it describes studies of historical, Holocene, and Quaternary soil chronosequences, mainly to illustrate the wide range of settings in which chronosequences are now investigated. Third, it considers two rival theories of pedogenesis, the developmental and the evolutionary, and briefly explores the evidence for them in chronosequence investigations.
