This paper points out the similarities and differences of the microstructure in vertisols from 2 countries of the Mediterranean belt: Turkey and Israel, and also significance of the spheroidal microstructural units and possible implications for water movement in the vertisols of the Southeastern Anatolian Irrigation Project (GAP) area.
