Landlordism in Third World urban low-income settlements: a case for further research

The increasing penetration of commodity relationships has raised the cost of ownership and has implications for the development of landlordism. There is a need to focus on rental housing markets in low-income settlements, but these markets have been examined from the point of view of consumers, almost to the exclusion of producers.
