Description :
This study describes tne characteristics of mass movements which occurred in 1976-1977 on a colluvial slope made of weathered gabbro in central Japan, and discusses the relationship weathering, strength and slope instability for the slope. For this purpose, field observations of characteristics of mass movement and laboratory tests for measuring mineralogical, physical and mechanical properties of slope-forming materials have been carried out.
