Tahiti: is the melting pot melting down?

Auteur :
POIRINE, B.

Description :
Discussion about two opposite views. The first is optimistic and describes a truly multicultural melting pot, a society able to retain a strong Polynesian cultural heritage, while adopting elements of the European and Chinese cultures. The second is pessimistic: it presents the Demi group as a local bourgeoisie trying to gain political control and financial gains from its command of Polynesian and Western cultures.
