Description :
The aim of this study is to determine the behavior of REE, U and Th during the weathering of a crystalline rock with common REE-U-Th contents. The Akongo lateritic profile which developed on a syenite has been chosen because 1) this profile is representative of the main lateritic profiles found in tropical environments, 2) the possibility to calculate mass balance in the crystalline parent rock and 3) the contrasted behavior of elements during lateritic weathering.
