Areas of influence for IDW-interpolation with isotropic environmental data
Auteur :RIES, L.
Description :
This paper gives an introduction into a new method wich can be used in combination with spatial interpolation by means of inverse distance weighted movins averages (IDW). The base assumption for the construction of areas of influence is the analysis of the gradient structure of a preselected base data set. The use of this computation method can essentially improve the interpolation results of the IDW technique. An example for application to air pollution data and hints for the use with other environmental data are included.
