Sewering the English suburbs: an inter-war perspective

Auteur :
SHEAIL, J.

Description :
The paper highlights the way in which the local government bodies in North Cheshire, West Middlesex and South Hertfordshire, sought to exploit advances in the techniques of sewage treatment and disposal to secure a more coordinated and comprehensive approach to drainage. Local governments were sufficently adapted and coordinated to withstand the pressures of unprecedented suburban development.
