Les quatre types de systèmes de production (privatisé, gouvernemental, syndical et coopératif) se différencient par leur organisation et leur localisation. Au cours des 25 dernières années, la restructuration de l'économie israélienne a induit des changements: les disparités s'amenuisent entre les quatre systèmes (organisation industrielle et engagement idéologique). L'usine en kibboutz illustre comment une communauté d'adapte aux changements de l'économie globale, se réorganise pour être viable et reste compétitive.
