Auteurs :
DIELEMAN, F.

BLAUW, W.

Description :
The five papers of this special issue are focusing on how the development and restructuring of European cities occur in interaction with the economic, social, and political environment. These cities are in relation with the informational society and the global economy. Their economic basis undergoes a shift from manufacturing to knowledge and the organisation of functions in a more complex division of labour. The examples of Stockholm, Prague and Glasgow are studied.
