Mul'tifraktal'nost' prirodnoj sredy
Les multifractales du milieu naturel
Auteur :VASIL'EV, L.N.
Description :
Multiscaling in the environment manifests itself in self-similarity of spatial geometrical structure and the spectrum of the fractal dimensions of matte masses or relevant geophysical parameters. The real importance of scaling power law dependence is the extrapolation to the smallest sizes. Aknowledge of the full scaling range is fundamental to any understanding of self-similarity. Multiscaling in fractal environment gives a valuable computer modeling tool for spatial structure and natural processes. The fractal approach and models illustrate in an elementary way how size and mass distribution can be multiscaling and (mono)scaling in the environment to describe fault structures, linear elements of relief, vegetation in city, sea-ice, soil moisture are presented.
