Somebody else, somewhere else : racisms, racialized spaces and the popular geographical imagination in Sweden

Auteur :
PRED, A.

Description :
Swedish racisms may in part be seen and heard as local manifestations of the present moment of danger in which the practices and experiences encountered in every day life are characterized as capitalist modernity magnified. A politics of resentment and profond discontent has emerged in conjunction with economic dislocations. There is a scapegoating of immigrants, refugees and long-resident minorities. Capitalism is restructuring, there is a fiscal crisis and unemployment is growing.
