Authoritarianism in the age of market liberalism in Sri Lanka

Auteur :
STOKKE, K.

Description :
This paper seeks to make sense of what appears to be a contradictory coexistence of authoritarianism (or poor governance) and economic liberalization in Sri Lanka from the mid-1970s to the elections in 1994. The major point is that of the relationship between governance and economic development must be approached through concrete analyses of political strategies around and within the post-colonial state.
