Unions and the politics of deindustrialization: some comments on how geography complicates class analysis

Auteurs :
MARTIN, R.
SUNLEY, P.
WILLS, J.

Description :
It is a reply to a paper which attempts to analyze the relation between local political practice and deindustrialization in the United States, and highlights the mobility of capital. The AA. distinguish three forms of capital mobility and demonstrate that the process of deindustrialization is more complex than it has been said. Fordism and the making of trade union response to closure is then studied.
