Development of a physiologically mechanistic model for use at the alpine treeline ecotone

Auteur :
CAIRNS, D.M.

Description :
The purpose of this research is to evaluate the relative importance of selected processes (snow redistribution and winter dessication) important at the alpine treeline ecotone (ATE) using an existing physiologically mechanistic model, FOREST-BGC. In this paper, FOREST-BGC is modified to incorporate these processes to model net primary productivity (NPP) and carbone balance for ATE sites in Glacier National Park, Montana.
