Accelerated erosion on the North Carolina coastal plain

Description :
In this study, soil erosion for Coastal Plain uplands is estimated, for the period of European settlement,using soil-profile truncation as the basis for measurement. This is measured by comparing the depth to the argillic horizon for 27 representative pedons of the benchmark upland soil, the Norfolk series, with depth-to-argillic of the Norfolk series at two baseline sites.
