Description :
The development of ecotones positively depends on temperature, rain and water level. From among the many scenarios of global climate change, two : the GISS and GFLD scenarios have been considered in relation to their effect on freshwater ecosystems (Pilica catchment in Sulejów, central Poland). The consequence will be an intensification of freshwater eutrophication, of which the most dangerous symptom, especially in reservoirs which supply drinking water, is the appearance of toxic algal blooms.
