Regional inequalities in agricultural transformation in the Czech Republic

Changes regarding both transformation of the property relations and the agricultural production have been affecting the Czech agriculture since 1989. Heterogenous climatic and soil conditions predetermine the regional differences. Special forms of transition of cooperatives and state farms are described. The reduction of agricultural production should eliminate surpluses. Geography can contribute to the current compiling of regional agricultural programmes. - (MS)
