Description :
The Prague-Karlov meteorological station was opened in 1919. Homogenous series of observation is available since 1920. The visibility of Prague's environment was gradually decreasing from the beginning of the fifties until the half of the eighties. Increase in the intensity of industrial, building and transport activities was characteristic for this period. Only the beginning of the nineties brought along scarce signs of an overall change towards gradual improvement of visibility. - (MS)
