Description :
The location of the Region near the state border of the Klatovy, Prachatice and Český Krumlov districts, has influenced its economic and social development. The territory is to a large extent covered by forests (47 %). The agricultural and arable land falls below the average of the czech Republic. Cartograms clearly show that the most serious problems might occur in submontane areas, where the agricultural land was intensively used. - (MS)
