The author first examines the formation of karst shapes and then he interprets those karst formation conditions during which karst production occurs. Based on principally Hungarian examples, he differentiates three different types of karst development. The base of the differentiation is the method and speed of elevation, the speed of erosion of the covering sediments, and lastly the size of the area affected by elevation. - (ZK)
