The relevance of Kenya's urban settlement policies for independent South Africa
Auteur :MACOLOO, G.C.
Description :
The urbanisation policies introduced by colonial governments into the former settler colonies of Anglophone Africa were remarkably similar. The policies were aimed more at controlling the African population than managing it. South Africa and Kenya have parallel histories and the latter can learn from the experiences of the latter with regard to urban housing policies, notably with regard to finance, land and building materials. - (AJC)
