Description :
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the variation in amino-acid composition of a speleothem sample from northern Norway and to evaluate its potential for geochronology. The AA. have analysed the amino acid concentration, composition, and extent of isoleucine epimerization and compared the results with U-series and paleomagnetic dating. Using U-series calibrated rate of epimerization, the AA. then extrapolate the ages of lower parts of the speleothem that are beyond the range of U-series dating.
