This research has two main goals: 1) to test the use of field properties of soil catenas for relative-age studies of moraines in relatively dry and wet areas in New Zealand, and 2) to determine the variation in chemical properties downslope in each catena, to document trends in chemical properties with time in two markedly different climates.
