Desert pavement characteristics on wadi terrace and alluvial fan surfaces : Wadi Al-Bih, U.A.E. and Oman

The aim of this work is to establish the characteristics of desert pavement development on three age-related groups of terrace surfaces in Wadi Al-Bih (United Arab Emirates and Oman). A second aim is to assess whether similar age-related pavement characteristics are developed on alluvial fan surfaces, whose ages relative to the terrace sequence are suggested by morphostratigraphic relationships. Finally, on the basis of comparisons with other work, some suggestions are made relating to the age of the sequence as a whole.
