The role of some site geochemical processes in the development and stabilisation of three badland sites in Almería, Southern Spain

The AA. reconsider existing and new soil geochemical data collected in 3 of 4 Almería badland areas (Tabernas, Vera and Mocatan), aiming to identify diagnostic site physico-chemical relationships (or signatures). The hypothesis that site geochemistry has a central role in both the geomorphological development and stabilisation potential of dispersive site materials is also explored.
