Description :
The purpose of this paper is to examine how the interaction between climatically-driven changes of sediment supply and eustatically-induced changes of base level influence the geomorphology of alluvial fans, using evidence from Quaternary coastal alluvial fans in the Cabo de Gata ranges of southeast Spain. The geomorphic characteristics of the fans are described first, then, using evidence provided by soil development, the evolution during the late Quaternary is established and related to the sequences of climatic and base-level change.
