Late Quaternary paleolandslides on the coral terraces of Huon Peninsula, Papua New Guinea

Description :
The objectives are to identify the effects that uplift rate, landsurface gradient and underlying geology have on landslide characteristics, and to determine whether large, coseismic uplift events are accompanied by landslides. To achieve these aims, the characteristics and distribution of landslides which disrupt the Huon Peninsula terraces are examined; landslides that occurred in the last 120,000 years are described for 8 sampling areas that differ in topography and geology.
