Historical to post-glacial glaciation and their differentiation from the Late Glacial period on examples of the Tian Shan and the N.W. Karakorum
Tibet and High-Asia
Auteur :MEINERS, S.
Description :
The historical to post-glacial glacier positions have been reconstructed from the recent glaciation history of selected examples. A chronological classification of the glacial events in phases can be defined by calculating the snow-line depression after taking the relief factor into account. A decrease in the elevation of the glacial surface is a more important factor, compared to the oscillations of the glacial tongue, influencing the development of the multiphase, lateral moraines that characterise the Holocene glacial fluctuations.
