Description :
Despite its natural wealth, the region is a relatively unexplored and deserted area. Accessibility remains difficult due to the acute guerrilla workfare in the surrounding provinces. The health situation is one of the poorest in Cambodia. The infant mortality is high. Women play a major role among the various activities connected with itinerant agriculture and with the gathering of forest products. The woman's living conditions lead to different exposures to an important number of diseases.
