Description :
This paper describes the Humber environment and, in particular, the instrumentation and software systems which have been developed in the Observatory. Two sets of instruments are described: firstly, the new meteorological station, and secondly, the Marine Environmental Monitoring System (MEMSys) established on navigational marks in the estuary itself. Other data inputs are described, together with three different numerical models which have been implemented for the estuary. Results are discussed in terms of 1) data validation and archiving; 2) data presentation; 3) data input into oprational environmental control systems.
