Description :
This paper discusses the effects of and relations between mass redistribution, energy redistribution and changes in angular momentum. Glacial mass redistributions and glacial eustatic changes in sea level affects the Earth's rate of rotation. Changes in the rate of rotation, in its turn, affects both the distribution of mass (water and air) and the distibution of energy (stored in oceans and transferred by winds). The changes in rotation, their driving forces and causal effects are of novel character and prime interest in this case, and will hence be the focus of this paper.
