Cyclicity in precipitation and stream discharge in Georgia and relationships with the southern oscillation

Description :
The AA. examine both the cyclic and SO effects on precipitation and stream flow in Georgia with a view to better understanding the vagaries of hydrological conditions. To achieve these objectives, stream discharge at 10 U.S. Geological Survey stream gaging sites in Georgia, and precipitation at 13 nearby climate stations are examined for the 57 water years (October to September) from 1938 to 1994, and SO characteristics from 1887 to 1994 (98 years). Maximum entropy spectrum analysis (MESA) is used to uncover cycles in the discharge, precipitation, and SO time series.
