Description :
This paper documents the spatial and temporal variability of tornadic storms in the state of Indiana and the nature and severity of those events, and employ statistical techniques to infer causality of the variability with particular emphasis on differentiating recording biases and physical causality in tornado records. The tornado record from Indiana is used as a functional database to examine the influence of surface parameters, surface roughness, and to examine whether the record shows evidence of consistent bias/temporal trends in the reported storm timing, morphology, and intensity.
