Misuse of R2 values from linear regression in fractal analysis

Auteur :
ANDRLE, R.

Description :
The main purpose of this study is to show that, although seemingly counterintuitive, higher R2 values actually increase the likelihood of detecting significant curvature in a relation. Additionally, while this curvature is unlikely to hinder the use of LSLR in predicting y from x, it will be demonstrated that significant variations in the slope coefficient (and therefore, in estimates of D) can exist in the presence of R2 values close to unity.
