Description :
The objectives of this study were : to determine the accuracy of both the neutron-attenuation and electrical-capacitance methods by comparison to gravimetric sampling and to each other; to establish relationships between the 3 methods and determine the nature of those relationships; and to determine the field characteristics of the 3 methods and to evaluate their ease of operation. The AA. found that the electical-capacitance method provides a viable alternative to the neutron-attenuation method of soil-water measurement in the field.
