The purpose of this study is to determine the validity of the POD Index for the classification of some Florida soils in thermic and hyperthermic temperature regimes, based on the methods of Schaetzl and Mokma (1988). This study, therefore, extends the geographic range and the utility of the POD Index for differentiating Spodosols from non-Spodosols.
