This paper reports pollen and charcoal records with high temporal resolution from Lago Condorito in the Valle Longitudinal of the southern Chilean Lake District. Defining the stratigraphic distribution of charcoal and vegetation changes at local and regional geographic scales is a necessary step to discriminate the relative contributions of climate change and fire disturbance as agents of vegetation change.
