Refinements of the European mammal biochronology from the magnetic polarity record of the Plio-Pleistocene Zújar section, Guadix-Baza Basin, SE Spain

Description :
The magnetobiostratigraphy study of the 130-m-thick Zújar section (Negratín clays unit, Guadix-Baza Basin, Spain) provides a remarkable opportunity to improve the correlation of European mammal biostratigraphy to the Geomagnetic Polarity Time Scale. The data obtained in the studied Zújar section allows three new relevant considerations to be made for the Late Pliocene chronology.
