Description :
The Quaternary deposits in the Galilee coastal plain comprise alternating calcareous sandstone (kurkar), red loam (hamra), dark clay, and uncemented sand. This study deals with the origin of the kurkar, with the correlation between kurkar and hamra beds that recur several times in the sequence, with dating the kurkar and hamra units, and with relating the chronostratigraphic units to global sea levels and to regional and global climatic events.
