A large California flood and correlative global climatic events 400 years ago

Description :
The AA. describe the first dated offshore evidence of a large flood in southern California that occurred close to 400 years ago and is likely coeval with the younger Silver Lake episode. After using varve counts to estimate an age between A.D. 1600 and 1610, the AA. explore possible climatic connections with extreme events elsewhere in the region and around the globe.
