Description :
A lake sediment core (SC-1 Pond) was analyzed for pollen and plant macrofossils, and a small fen (Shangri-La Bog) was also analyzed for pollen. This new data will help determine if there was a history of xerothermic, mesothermic, and modern climates on the Queen Charlotte Islands, or whether neoglacial cooling abruptly terminated the early Holocene xerothermic period as suggested at many study sites.
