Description :
A comparative analysis was performed in regard to the ecological scales of indicator values for plant species proposed by : Ellenberg et al. (1991) for the flora of Germany, Landolt (1997) for the flora of Switzerland and Zarzycki et al, (2002) for the flora of Poland, in respect of six environmental features, of which 3 were climatic (light intensity, temperature and continentality) and 3 soil-related (moisture, acidity and nitrogen content). The results of the analysis pointed first and foremost to the separateness of the Landolt scale when it comes to evaluations of species as indicators of moderately light (well-illuminated) sites, with extremely dry and neutral soils, these being regarded as indicators of fully-light sites with dry and alkaline soils in terms of the Ellenberg and Zarzycki scales. – (BJ)
