Description :
The variations in geographic space and landscape have to be analyzed for the purpose of determining boundaries between the elements and components of space or landscapes with different scenic value. The objective of this study was to analyze the use of two interpolation methods in landscape regionalization, and to investigate the effect of the number of measurement points on the produced results. The first method was inverse distance weighted (IDW) interpolation, and the other method involved kriging. The analyzed space were rural areas in the transitional zone of Olsztyn. Interpolation was performed using classification values determined with the involvement of the impression curve method proposed by Wejchert. The results can be used to model planning space and develop maps which support urban planners and property market actors in decision-making activities. – (BJ)
