Description :
The increasing pressure exerted by mass tourism on natural, social and cultural resources and the desire for ongoing growth gave rise to the concept of sustainable tourism development. Rural tourism enables local residents to generate income from the existing farm resources, and it is an important feature of the sustainable development concept. This paper discusses the results of a study aiming to determine the structure of income in the surveyed farm households, describe the motivation for launching tourist services in rural areas and identify the barriers to the development of tourism in the Region of Warmia and Mazury. – (BJ)
