Description :
Rural areas are characterized by lower income base and more dispersed settlements. Their investment potential may significantly differ from the municipalities, but their inhabitants require access to the same type of public services. Based on the collected data and analytical procedures proposed by T. Lubinska and others (2007), E. Markowska-Bzducha (2008) and the Gdansk Institute for Market Economics as well as authors own indicators, the investment potential of rural areas in the years 2005–2010 was estimated. It has been pointed out how various sources of funding have been affected changes in the investment potential and how the level of technical infrastructure has been changed. – (BJ)
